Join the Georgia Appalachian Trail Club on Saturday, October 20 at 9 a.m as they work on the A.T. near Unicoi Gap. The day will consist of a 1 mile round trip hike, working on steps for three major water crossing projects, and enhancing drainage structures that help minimize erosion. Trail club members will be demonstrating the best practices for making and maintaining water control devices. Spend a rewarding day on the A.T. volunteering and making the A.T. a better walking experience for all.
The work trip will consist of a 1 mile hike round trip and will not have major elevation changes. The work day will begin at 9 a.m.
Participants should wear long pantsn and sturdy boots. Participants should bring sun protection, bug repellant, layers, rain gear, plenty of water, lunch, and snacks. Tools and training will be provided by the club.
